2 International conference about civic heraldry
2 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ABOUT CIVIC HERALDRY

I joined the call for papers for the second international conference on heraldry entitled "Heraldry in the suburbs, border coats of arms: places, situations, contents". My speech develops through two dimensions: time and space, thus capturing the relationship of cause and effect that first determined the original composition of the heraldic coats of arms in the founding cities of the province of Latina, and then the transformation has undergone by the three guidelines according to the theme of the conference: places, situations, and contents. First of all, I have illustrated the place before and after the reclaim where at the beginning of the last century was founded 4 towns and one new province in the south of Rome. Then the first symbolism adopted for these new towns in their coat of arms during the fascist regime and how it was changed after the fall of the regime and the proclamation of the Italian Republic. I provided some details about the methodology and the new approach used to illustrate, tell and speak about this particular and peripherical heraldry system.

FACING THE THREAT

Thanks to my incredible team I was able to craft a special training initiative and put in place my concept to create a cybersecurity contest series named "CyberShield". The first episode, titled "facing the threat" combines multiple skills in cyber security: malware analysis, mobile forensics, osint, network analysis, reverse, and coding. The contest is based on Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge and we use an open-source platform as a scoring and stats system to record "live" the progress of the participants and manage the registration to the challenge. My team customized and integrated some functions in the scoring platform sharing the project in the git hub channel. So the CTF is completely designed by me and implemented by my team to deploy a CERT crew nightmare day handling unusual info-security incidents that involve real data of a drone and real logs produced from real IT systems and SIEM. The original cybersecurity contest formula allows the training of attendees, evaluating skills, and measuring performance in every single incident management activity. The contest was replaced also with a customized version for the Italian army.

Cyber security awareness to italian government
CYBER THREAT CLIMATE CHANGE

I was involved in some training activities in Italian public administration to aware employees and law enforcement of cyber risks since 2008, during different job roles and positions. The main arguments were focused on Cyber Response and Incident Management where I used Apollo 13 story to introduce the approach and posture in crisis management with multiple and distributed teams. Other speeches, instead, takes focus on the cyber threat intelligence frameworks and platforms to handle IoC, raw data, and reports: for these items, I used classic literature about tactics used by adversaries, and the history of cyberattacks. The keynotes are labeled TLP RED so I am not able to share them with us, but according to my approach and to avoid self-referentiality I provide third parties links to check my last keynote before the pandemic era. SANS SECURITY AWARENESS SUMMIT

During show'n tell session of the 2019 European Security Awareness Summit, I exposed my comics, playbook, flyer, and magazine inspired by art, and optical illusion to showcase my initiative for the cybersecurity awareness program. During the summit, I have shown a self-made taser video for cyber security training to better involve women according to my posture in gender equality, inclusion, and diversity in the teams to enrich the culture of change.
The idea is to use the gym analogy to illustrate how to face cyber threats by training, continuous improvement of your skills, and open vision also outside the gym in the real battlefield.

CYBER INSECURITY

Invited to a round table in the Italian financial sector about info-sharing, I have illustrated my approach and vision by showing slides composed only of comics and quotes putting attention from literature and the real world, from theory to practice, from an idea to the daily activities finding a right balance because in cyber and information security "WHAT YOU SEE" is not always "WHAT YOU GET"!

MALVERTISING: AN ITALIAN TALE

My speech was selected in the call for papers at the 30th annual incident responder's conference where I also moderate some technical sessions. The original speech was proposed by a colleague and shown by me in an interactive way including a little CTF (Capture The Flag) to better involve the attendee.
When a small advertisement becomes a big risk: follow our Incident Responders deep investigating a rare malware infection via hot advertisement. During the speech, you will be guided through the entire process, from Early Warning to Remediation, including the HR approach to the user. We will cover new aspects of Malvertising as Social Profiling capabilities used to target the attack and how attackers mask their identity behind the advertisement network. At the end of the presentation, a section about preventive measures implemented will be explained as the result of the "Lesson Learned Phase".

74th anniversary of the municipality of Pontinia

In the photo extracted from the video of the event, besides me, who moderates the conference, also Professor Alimonti (La Sapienza University of Rome), the archaeologist Carmela Anastasia, the National Geographic photo reporter Mimmo Frassineti and the "Premio Strega" Antonio Pennacchi, historian and well-known writer. Archaeologist Carmela Anastasia also reported on the conference and illustrated the results of the study which confirms the presence of human settlements in the area of the municipality of Pontinia already in archaic and prehistoric times and therefore before the swamp was formed. Professor Alimonti illustrated the fragile balance achieved with reclamation which has unique characteristics and must be safeguarded. The writer Antonio Pennacchi has chosen Pontinia as a stop on the journey to the founding cities on the occasion of the presentation of the book "THE COMMUNIST BEAM: A JOURNEY FOR THE DUCE CITIES" published by Laterza. The writer animated the meeting and the audience with his unmistakable verve with original food for thought. Here is the full video of 2007.
